Food Testing

BAL Laboratory offers Peace of Mind for your food testing needs.  We currently perform several specific different analyses for produce, poultry, meat, and seafood.  We offer testing schedules that range from occasional monitoring to weekly and daily analysis of your products. 

What services do we offer?

  • Most analyses have a turn around time of 24-48 hours.  Clients are contacted if their product tests positive.
  • Sample receiving and tracking utilizing an automated LIM System.
  • A formal written report within 5 to 10 days, depending on the depth and complexity of the tests performed.
  • Staff available 7 days a week, on an as-needed 24/7 basis.
  • A staff with over 20 years of combined experience in food testing and microbiology.

Analyses offered:

  • Total Coliform/Fecal Coliform/Escherichia coli   -  MPN
  • E. coli 0157:H7 (MPN) and Presence and Absence
  • Total Aerobic Plate Count
  • Yeast and Mold Count
  • Staphylococcus aureus  -  MPN
  • Salmonella sp.  - MPN
  • Bacillus cereus  -  plate count
  • Listeria sp  -  Presence/Absence
